BDR Hands Relief Supplies to Nasaka

Dhaka: Bangladesh Rifles handed over relief supplies, including mineral water, medicine, and ORS saline to Nasaka, Burma's border security forces, for the victim's of cyclone Nargis on Thursday at Maungdaw Township in Arakan State.

A 15-member Bangladeshi relief team led by Colonel Mahbub Ali, Commander of the Chittagong sector of the BDR, went to Maungdaw with the relief materials on the afternoon of May 8.

Colonel U Aung Gyi, commander in charge of Nasaka headquarters at Maungdaw received the relief goods.

According to BDR 42 at Teknaf, the relief materials sanctioned by the BDR included about 11 thousand litres of drinking water, 107,000 analgesic tablets, and about 30,000 packs of ORS saline.

Colonel U Aung Gyi thanked the people of Bangladesh and the BDR for the donation.
