Two Burmese citizens were arrested by Bangladesh border security forces along with one Bangladesh citizen on 31 March 2006 for behaving suspiciously, said a local newspaper report.

The newspaper, however, did not mention exactly why the authorities felt the three were suspicious as they were staying in a village of Mawlabi Para under Teknaf Township.

The arrestees have been identified as Adu Rohim and Adu Roshi, hailing from Burma. The Bangladeshi man has been identified as Mr. Muhamad Shalar.

The authorities sent them to Cox's Bazar jail yesterday to appeal for remand from Cox's Bazar district magistrate court for interrogation, the newspaper stated.
