One woman was killed, and seven others were
seriously injured when junta forces conducted a drone bomb attack on a market
in Sane town, Kyaukphyu District, Rakhine State.
At 8 am on May 8, junta forces launched seven
drone bombs on Sane town. One of these bombs struck a row of vegetable stalls
outside the market, causing casualties among local residents.
"Around 8 am today, junta forces bombed
Sane town using drones. There were a total of seven bombs. One bomb hit a row
of vegetable stalls outside the market, resulting in one person killed and
seven others injured," a resident of Sane informed Narinjara News.
The deceased individual is Myo Thandar Win,
aged 29, the daughter of the owner of Yoma Thandar Express from Shwe Hinthar
ward, Sane town.
The other seriously injured individuals include
U Myo Thet Paing (over 30), Daw Khin Lay Mu (over 50), and five other residents.
"This drone bomb attack occurred without
any fighting. The injured have now been urgently sent for medical
treatment," said a social worker from Sane town.
According to residents, the junta forces first
deployed a surveillance drone and then launched attack drones, dropping bombs.
