The Victory Day ceremony at Red Square commemorating the 80th anniversary of World War II's conclusion will take place on May 9 in Moscow, Russia.
The event is taking place at the formal invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, and a military parade representing the Military Council will also feature in the ceremony.
The military council announcement indicated that while the military leaders are on their trip, they will participate in the Victory Day ceremony in Red Square and related events, where they will conduct separate meetings with other attendees at the ceremony.
Moreover, it stated that throughout the visit, it will strengthen the amicable, economic, security, and strategic collaboration between both governments and their citizens across all sectors.
The junta leader and his spouse, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, will additionally engage with the Speaker of the Russian Federation Council and the President of the Women’s Business Alliance of the Russian Federation, it noted.
Concerning this journey, CDM Captain Zin Yaw, who defected from the Myanmar army, stated, "Approximately 29 nations will participate, so he maintains strong connections with the leaders of these nations. Subsequently, we will examine matters related to military, economic, and security concerns. The key aspect is to acquire additional military arms and military gear. He plans to acquire additional weapons to eliminate individuals using different methods. He will also obtain technology during his trip to Russia.”
Since the coup, the military council has been openly acquiring military aircraft, drones, helicopters, and equipment from Russia and is attacking civilians, including the revolutionary forces.
Military chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has traveled to Russia four times since the coup. The fourth visit occurred last March, during which the two nations signed 10 agreements, one of which involves Russia's commitment to construct a small nuclear power plant in Myanmar.
