A Rohinya man was killed in a reported gunfight between two criminal gangs at Ukhiya camp in Cox's Bazar early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Bashir Ullah, 35, son of Fozu Miah, resident of Block H-32 of Rohingya camp.
The gunfight took place at the camp around 4:30am, said Sheikh Mohammad Ali, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya police station, confirming the matter.
Both groups exchanged around 10-12 rounds of bullets in the gunfight. Bashir was shot in the gunfight and suffered critical injuries, said the OC.
Later, he was taken to IMO hospital at camp no-9.
As his condition was critical, he was referred to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital and he died on the way to hospital.
