A 50-year-old man was killed in a shooting incident that took place in Rakhine capital city of Sittwe at
around 9 pm on Thursday.
The deceased has been identified as U Maung Kyin Sein, who
hailed from Set Yon Suu ward from
the outskirts of Sittwe.
A local resident informed Narinjara News that he could hear the sound of gunshots for five times
near Aung Parami monastery.
"The victim was shot dead by the miscreants. He was
shifted to the hospital, where he
succumbed to injuries. His daughter also sustained injuries on one leg," he added.
The victim’s body and also his injured daughter are being
kept in Sittwe general hospital.
The shooting occurred near the office of Arakan
Liberation Party (ALP), led
by pro-junta Daw Saw Mya Razalin.
"It took place near the ALP headquarters. I don't know
which group was involved with it,”
he added.
On 15 September, a 40-year-old ALP major Khaing Soe
Lwin was shot dead in front of a
shop near the State communication office in Sittwe. He was also attacked by a sharp item and succumbed to injuries
on the spot.
