Myanmar authority has handed over six Bangladeshi fishermen to Bangladesh Border Guard Force (BGB-02) on western the Myanmar border.
The initiative was made possible with the help from the Bangladesh consulate in Sittwe.
All those Bangladeshi fishermen were stranded at Kyaukphyu township sea coast of Rakhine State since 1 February due to some technical failures, said the Sittwe consulate office on 9 March.
"Our mission is thankful to all concerned parties in materializing the rescue operation and repatriation of the fishermen as well,” added the consulate statement.
The Sittwe consulate often seeks to repatriate Bangladeshi nationals who got detained in the Burmese waters.
