Seven detained civilians including four women were taken to Kyauk Phyu town from Sanae police station for more interrogation after they were arrested by the military council.

It may be mentioned that the AA arrested police officer  Kyaw Zin Win from the Sanae market area in the morning hours of 24 July. Following the incident, the local authority arrested those 14 civilians from Sanae town for questioning.

Among them 7 were released after preliminary questioning, but 7 were taken to Kyauk Phyu.

Among the female detainees include Ma Khin Nila Nwe (20 years old, a third-year college student) and Ma Khin Thuza Nwe (25), hailing from Kan Byint ward of Sanae town. One of the male detainees included  Aung Naing Win, a clerk of 5th ward  in Sanae town.

A member of the arrested families said, "I don't know the  names of all the detainees. Only I came to know that 3 are male and 4 female. Lately 7 individuals were taken to Kyauk Phyu district police office.”

Narinjara News contacted the Kyauk Phyu district police chief, but he said, "I don't know. They were not transferred to our police station.”

After the incident of the police officer’s arrest, the markets and schools remain deserted because of security concerns. A resident informed,  the number of pedestrians in the town has also decreased.

"As markets and schools are closed, there are a few people on the road. It is even worse than the Covid-19 restriction days. The parents have decided not to send students to the schools,” he added.
