Myanmar juntaforces have killed three people, including a resident of Tharat Tapinvillage, who were arrested on 1 August near the historic Maha Muni pagoda inKyauk Taw township, 80 miles north of Rakhine State capital city ofSittwe.
"They werearrested and brought to the brigade by an army vehicle. They were unconscious.They were even thrown into the car by their legs. The soldiers had beaten themafter their arrest,” said a close to the junta forces.
Locals informedthat one of the arrestees was U Maung Sawtha from Tharat Tapin village and theother two may be members of Arakan Army.
They were beatenby the soldiers with their guns just after their arrest from the pagodalocality, where the junta forces are stationed.
A shopkeeper nearthe pagoda informed that all three individuals were taken to Saka Kha (9)headquarters. They died in the interrogation cell about 2 days later.
U MaungSawtha's wife Daw Ma Aye Khin stated that she is worried about the news.
"Iheard that he died. But he was an ordinary citizen. The authority should informus of the time of death so that we can follow religious rituals,” she added.

In RakhineState, the army personnel had recently arrested about 100 local people allegingto be related to AA. Normally the arrested people are brutally tortured duringthe interrogation. Many of them died and some were hospitalized.
Ko Kyaw WinHlaing (32 years old) from Kyaukraz Kay ward under Mrauk U city, was seriouslyinjured while facing the military interrogation. He is charged with section505(a) under the sedition law. Currently he is receiving medical care in Yangongeneral hospital.
