Border Guard Station pillar number 40 captured by AA

The pillar number 40 of the border police station located at Myanmar-Bangladesh border areas has been captured by the Arakan Army (AA) on Wednesday.

AA confirmed it in the statement that the camp was successfully occupied by AA members in the morning hours.

“The 40-mile border post was successfully captured on Wednesday morning after our forces surrounded and attacked for some days,” the AA statement added.

The Myanmar military council tried to protect the camp using helicopters and fighter jets but it was eventually captured by spirited AA members.

"The pillar number 40 of the border police station is located at Myanmar-Bangladesh border areas, about 50 miles north of Maungdaw town. Following the AA attacked the camp, 19 border polices were reportedly killed and one police was arrested. Some members of AA sustained injuries,” said the statement.

Myanmar police's social media input also confirmed about the fall of the camp.

“More than 300 AA forces attacked the Myanmar-Bangladesh border police station at a 40-mile base. About 20 members of police forces fell down. The camp was protected by our comrades with sacrifices of their lives till last time.  The camp fell down this morning (31.8.2022),  added the facebook input.
