Ko Run Sot (b) Kyaw Zanwei, who often used to post self-made short humorous videos in social media, was arrested by the junta soldiers from his residence in the morning hours of 4 September.

The arrest took place around seven hours after the junta forces opened fire while entering into Mrauk U downtown without any reasons. They stepped in Mrauk U at around 1 am of Sunday and fired several gunshots on residential houses and also ancient buildings.

The soldiers used three military vehicles and even fired on a heritage wall of the royal palace.

The young man was arrested from his residence at Taung Rak ward of Mrauk U town when nearly 20 soldiers arrived in the locality and finally took him to the army battalion no 377.

"He was arrested by the army and police personnel in the morning hours. He remains trace-less for the family members," said a local relative.

Ko Run Sot often posted funny jokes on his facebook page relating to the Rakhine war.

“I don't know why he was arrested. He is not associated with any armed group. He is no way an anti-junta person. One can say, he is an ordinary happy young man," added the relative.

Even his wife was summoned by the army personnel for interrogations and later she was released after asking to sign a bond at the police station.
