Thousands of local people joined the funeral of Daw Ma MyaSaw (49 years old), the school teacher who died in army firing in Min Byatownship of Rakhine State on Wednesday.
The funeral took placeat 1:30 pm on 19 October at Min Bya cemetery.
The teacher was hit by a shell firedby army personnel on 17 October and she died on the spot.
After theArakan Army members attacked a group of Burmese military personnel in themorning hours, the security forces opened fire with heavy weapons and some ofthose fell on Daunk Chaung Gyi village primary school under Min Bya township.
"More than 4,000 people accompanied the teacher on her lastjourney. Attending the funeral they paid respects to her and at the same timesent a message with anger against the army authority," said a villager.
The victimlived with her family at Pythaawtha ward of Min Bya but the tragety incidenttook place while she was teaching in the school of Daunk Chaung Gyi village onthe day.
Headded that the teacher wasworking at school till 3 pm. Then the Min Bya based LIB 541, 379thand 380th battalions fired with heavy weapons tagetting severallocations.
Sameday, two sisters namely Ma Hla San Yau (23) and Ma San Ui Soe (10) hailing fromPha Long Pyin village were also killed by heavy weapon bullets from the Min Byabased junta forces.
