At around 9:00 AM on November 8, AA(TheArakan Army) intercepted and attacked 2 Military Council ferry boats at a river bend near KhaungLaung ChaungVillage in Minbya Township.
The Military Council’s ferryvessels and the Military Council’s base in Minbya retaliated with several rounds ofartillery fire, destroying 15 houses in a residential district of Minbya TownshipRakhine State according to a local activist.
The same activist reported “In Satkayayvillage, 3 houses were destroyed including the village administrativeofficer U Maung Nyunt Chay’s home. 4 houses collapsed in Kyayepyin village. He also reported that In Chaungshayvillage houses owned by U San Shwe Thein and U Me Aung were toppled. Ahouse was hit by an artillery shell in Phalaungpyin Village. Theother houses suffered holes on the walls, broken roofs and smashed pillars. Details of thedamage are still being compiled.”
Most of the damage to homes was caused byartillery shells fired from military vessels.
In addition, the Military Council troopsbased near Minbya Medawtaung continued to fire artillery until around 3:30 PM, locals said.
