Lieutenant-General TarAik Bong, the Chairman of the Palaung State Liberation Front -
Ta’ang National Liberation Army (PSLF-TNLA), said thatany action that would prolong the reign of the Military Dictatorship including holdingelections, must be effectivelyblocked.
General TarAik Bong in his speech to celebrate the 60th Ta’ang National Revolution Day on January 12 th declared ,”The Military Councilregime is preparing to hold sham elections in August 2023, with the aim of maintaining the power ofsuccessive militarydictatorships. Any kind of support that would prolong the reign of theJunta should beeffectively blocked in their own territories by the relevant forces”, he said.
“ Ourrevolutionary forces have an opportunity to prevent this election. Only byusingthis opportunity (since the coup) can we free future generations from theenslavement
of the Military”,he added.
He also urged allrevolutionary forces to resist and actively prevent the 2023 elections from being staged by the regime in order to maintainits power.
The MyanmarNational Truth and Justice Party/The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNTJP/MNDAA) and the United League ofArakan/Arakan Army (ULA/AA),and three “Brothers in Arms” organizations of the Northern Alliance, sent congratulatory memorandums on the 60thTa'ang National Revolution Day.
“Various ethnicgroups in Myanmar, including the Kokang, Ta'ang and Rakhine people are still fighting for the national liberationstruggle individually or collectively, to escape from the Junta’s reign, in order to achieve nationalequality, self-determination and the right to create our own destiny. All of ourorganizations will work together harmoniously and continue to fight for the revolution, until wehave achieved our common military and political goals”, according to the jointmemorandum of the three ethnic parties and EAOs.
“In addition, thethree brothers in arms organizations were able to practically demonstrate the spirit of brotherhood, alliance andcomradeship during the battles fought together to counter the Military Council ‘s politicaland ethnic divideand rule strategy and resist our common enemy through unity,” the memorandum continued.
“The unity amongthe three “brother in arms” organizations is already very strong, and we are ready to show thatunity at anymoment”, it also stated.
Bamar People’s Liberation Army (BPLA), Pa-O National FederalCouncil(PNFC), StudentArmed Force (SAF), People’s Defense Force - Mandalay and other revolutionary forces that emerged in the SpringRevolution period to fight
against the Junta,also sent congratulatory memorandums on the 60th Ta'ang National Revolution Day. The Palaung National Front,a Ta’ang armed group was formed on January 12th, 1963, and the Palaung State LiberationFront (PSLF) was established on January 12th, 1992.
