Narinjara News, March 23, 2023

According to U Khaing Kyaw Khaing, the Secretary of the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP), Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin, until recently the ALPs vice-chairman, has been expelled from the ALP party, and is no longer associated with the party.

Secretary U Khaing Kyaw Khaing told Narinjara News that Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin is no longer associated with the Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) due to her violation of the party's rules and regulations to establish a new party using the ALP party, the military's name, the logo, and the flag without notifying party chairman Khaing Ray Khaing and the central committee members.

The party did not accept the recent reorganization that involved Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin, the ALPs vice chairman, assuming the position of party chairman through the formation of a new central committee. As a result, Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin has been expelled from the ALP party and is no longer associated with the party.

She made herself the chairman without informing the chairman and 90 percent of the central committee. She has no legitimacy and is completely unrelated to the ALP party,he added.

Regarding the issue, the ALP, led by Chairman Khaing Ray Khaing, released an explanation signed by General Secretary Khaing Kyaw Khaing on March 20.

After the Military Council arrested ALPs Deputy Chief of Staff Brigadier General Khaing Min Soe and two soldiers on February 16, reportedly following orders from Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin, resulted in a split among the partys leaders.

Subsequently, Daw Saw Mya Yarzar Lin issued a statement declaring herself as the new chairman of the Arakan Liberation Party on March 5, stating that after forming a new political leadership group for the Arakan Liberation Party according to the wishes of the majority of the central leaders, they continued to follow the path of peace with the National Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), but it was different from the path that Chairman Khaing Ray Khaing wanted to take. It is also stated that through the path of peace that is believed, the party will be reorganized and established with people who share the same purpose for the benefit of Rakhine State and the people of Rakhine. Narinjara attempted to contact Daw Saw Mra Raza Lin for comment but was unable to get in touch.

The ALP party was first formed on April 9, 1967. It was re-formed for the fourth time in January 2022, with Chairman Khaing Ray Khaing leading the party.
