Quarrel between soldiers left one killed in Maungdaw

One junta soldier was killed and another injured when a grenade exploded in Kyauk Pandhuarmy outpost during a quarrel between the soldiers at the sentry post of the military camp.

The incident took place around 2 pm on Tuesday after an argument between the soldiers broke out.

A source close to the army informed Narinjara News that among the soldiers, who were seriously injured inthe explosion, one died at Maungdawhospital.

"During the guard duty hours, an argument took place and suddenly a grenade exploded. I don't know how ithappened. Two soldiers were seriouslyinjured. One was treated at the camp, but the other one was taken to the hospital at around 4 pm,where he succumbed to injuries,” headded.

It is quite impossible to contact the military council regarding the incident for authentication as noinformation is made available from theirend.

Such incidents of infighting among junta soldiers often take place.


On 6 January last, an incident wasreported from Dom Nyo border guard stationin northern Maungdaw township, where one threw a hand grenade into a group of soldiers who wereplaying cards and it resulted in killingof two lieutenant sergeants namely Thet Tun and Ling Lin along with injuring five others.
