Powerful cyclone Mokha arrived 135
miles away from Sittwe over the Bay of
Bengal by 7:30 am on
Sunday, said Myanmar meteorological and hydrology
department in its announcement.
The storm is classified with red level, and the maximum wind speed is assumed to be 125 to 135 miles per
hour.
It may cross the Rakhine coast by this morning, and the storm is expected to make landfall in Cox's
Bazar (of Bangladesh) and Kyauk Phyu
in Myanmar by the afternoon hours.
It is estimated that it may cross Sittwe and then proceed towards Kyauk Phyu and Cox's Bazar, said the
meteorological and hydrology department
report.
Then it may continue moving towards north & northeast of Chin State, Magway region, Sagaing region and
Kachin State.
Both the authorities in Rakhine State (Arakkha government led by Arakan Army and the Myanmar military
council have alerted the people about
Mocha in advance.
