“She was sentenced to an additional 10 years under Section 50 (j) of the Counter-Terrorism Law yesterday. They (military council) charge her under various sections,” a person close to her family said.

The military council arrested her by ramming the car into the crowd and shooting while covering the news about an anti-coup protest on Panbingyi road in Kyee Myin Daing Township on the morning of 5 December, 2021.

In the protest, five people including her were seriously wounded and 15 others got arrested.
The military council opened the case against Hmu Yadanar Khet Moh Moh Tun under Section 505 (a) of the Penal Code. Then, she was sentenced to three years in prison with hard labour in December, 2022.

The military council also charged her under Section 50 (j) for alleged funding the PDF members via her Kpay account.

“The military council sentenced her using its power. The accused made an objection to the case as the plaintiff couldn’t submit valid evidence. The accused said she will not appeal,” a person helping the accused said.

As the military council rammed a car into her, she underwent tibial replacement surgery. She has to use crutches and a wheelchair.
