Two years of conflicts: Over 1000 battles fought, 10 small junta camps captured, over 600 weapons seized, 153 KNDF comrades sacrificed

In the last two years, more than 1,000 battles took place, 10 small camps of junta forces were captured, more than 600 weapons were seized from the military forces and 153 Karenni National Defense Force (KNDF)comrades were fallen, said the KNDF chairman while marking the second anniversary of its establishment.

KNDF chairman Khun Bi Htoo made the statement on 31 May. The armed group was established in Kayah (Kareni) State involving many ethnic young men soon after the military coup in Myanmar.

The chairman also claimed that he now knows the strength & weaknesses of the military forces on the ground and hence he expects more positive outcome for the outfit.

“We believe that if we know the strength and weaknesses of the enemy at the ground level, we can prepare in a better way. The long-term battles will carry more good results for us,” said Khun Bi Htoo.

However, the KNDF must be prepared for maintaining the current achievement and it should participate in the revolutionary victory, added the leader.

He also claimed that if the military personnel had not faced the challenge on the ground, they would have killed more civilians and burnt down more houses.

The military coup committed war crimes and they would be severely punished. The KNDF will have to continue its fight for protection of the territories and obtain justice for the common people and finally
prevent them from entering into the Karenni region.

KNDF leaders are supporting various organisations like NUCC, NUG, CRPH, northern brotherhood alliance (3) to achieve their revolutionary success at the earliest.

"We have received arms & ammunition and invaluable military assistance from MNTJP/MNDAA, PSLF/TNLA and ULA/AA. Thanks to such assistance that helped the KNDF to start the revolution,” stated Khun Bi Htoo.

They also received the military training and support from the Karen National Union/Karen National Liberation Army (KNU/KNLA) and Karenni National Army (KNA) with other forces in Myanmar.

The NUG defence ministry, three brotherhood alliance (AA, TNLA and MNDAA), Burma People's Liberation Army (BPLA), Dawei People's Liberation Army (TPLF) and other revolutionary organizations have sent congratulatory messages to the KNDF.
