The body of U Thein Naing(45), principal ofSittwe government technical high school, who committedsuicide by going down to the river on Sittwe, was recovered at around7 pm on 3 June.

His bodywas found at the western side of Basara village inSittwe beach, informed Ko Lin Lin, president of Metta YonhcyiFoundation.

"Ataround 7 pm, his body was seen three miles west ofBasara village, southwest of Sittwe hotel. Looking at his clothes, itwas confirmed that it was Thein Naing 's body," added  Lin Lin.

On 2 June, theprincipal went down alone toKelantan river and at place where there is a rock between theintersection of Triangle road and old Sittwe raft, he killedself in the afternoon hours, said the locals.

Many staff ofthe high school came looking for him and they foundhis motorcycle along with a white hat on the beach.

The head teacherwas a Burmese by birth and used to work in Sittwefor some years.

Currentlyhis body is kept at Sittwe general hospital'smorgue. 

The reasonbehind his suicide is yet to be revealed, said Lin Lin.

He becomesthe second person, who committed suicide in Rakhine State after thecyclone Mocha hit the State on 14 May last.
