A Rakhine female migrant worker died in a prison ofMalaysia on 19Juneduring her detention because of illegal entry to the country.
The victim has been identified as Ms Ma Mae Kyawt hailing from Taepon village under Kyauk Taw townshiplocated at upper Kaladan river.
She was found dead in the Kalang city’s prison in SlangkorState of Malaysia.
According to a reliable source, the woman was working in a factory in Klang and later was arrested by theMalaysian authorities during a casualinspection, where she failed to present necessary documents.
"The lady died on 19 June. We communicated with herfamily. They were alreadygiven all the remaining items with her," said a Burmese labour activist in Malaysia.
It is reported that the deceased was waiting for trial at Kalang city jail. She had a poor health status andwas also taken to a hospital formedical attention and care.
A sum of Malaysian Ringgit 2611, a mobile phone set and some documents were possessed by the lady and allthese were handed over to the family.
