Soon after a secondary
school teacher was raped and killed in Rathedaung township
of Rakhine State on 16 September, the local residents express serious concern over
the security of common Rakhine people in their own places.
Daw Hnin Yu Nwe (37 years old) went to Pan
Paw Byint secondary school to take classes when the miscreant targeted
her. The school is about two miles away from her residence
in Kyunt Paw Pauk Taw village under Rathedaung t
The case is now under investigation by the United
League of Arakan /Arakan Army (ULA/AA). The culprit is yet to be identified,
informed the family members.
U Maung Kyaw Yin, head of the village
administration, informed that the ULA/AA has
been investigating the crime. Some villagers and education staff in nearby
villages were already interrogated.
Her cousin Ko Soe Min Aung informed that she
was on a noble mission and hence her murder will affect many more children in
the locality. He demanded that the culprits must be brought to justice by
ULA/AA authorities.
A resident of Pan Paw
Byint village revealed that they haven't found the
culprit till date. The lady had a stab wound on the thigh and
her neck was silted. The victim’s body was found on the road.
The people under the education department and common
Rakhine individuals were sad to receive the news.
Rakhine National Education Network secretary Ma Ma
Win informed Narinjara News that it was an unfortunate incident.
The criminal raped and killed the teacher and it will scare other female
teachers in the areas.
The locals have strongly condemned the incident, which
has been reported for the first time in the locality, and demanded the arrest
& punishment to the culprits under the laws at the earliest.
