10 junta soldiers, including a commander, killed in Karen: MOD

Ministry of defense (MOD) under the NUG announced on 18 September that the junta soldiers and armed membersbelonging to Karen National ResistanceArmy (KNLA) and PDF-9903 coalition forces clashed in Kyain Seikgyi Township of Karen State, where more than 10soldiers, including a lieutenant colonel (battalion commander), were killed and seven others were wounded.

On 14 September, about 70 soldiers of military junta division (44) including the 22nd division and Karenborder guard forces (BGF) marchedto Khale village under Kyain Seikyi township. The KNLA and PDF-9903 red dragon column jointly blocked them with power.

The gunbattle started at around 7 am and ended by 10:30 am. During the conflicts, a junta commander was killedby a sniper's bullet. Soon the militarycouncil forces retreated.

"Both the drone and sniper shooters were used in the battle. In all battles of Karenni and Karen States,the junta forces fought against revolutionaryfighters. Meanwhile, many soldiers have surrendered to KNU and PDF,said a military officer.

In addition, the junta  Mi-35 helicopter was also used. Heavy weapons were also stationed in Abis village forfiring over the area repeatedly.


A member of the red dragon regiment of  PDF-9903 was also killed in thebattle.

On 14 September, the KNLA and revolutionary joint forces attacked the military council military camp in KokKrait township and seized a lot ofarms and ammunition, reported the KNU central committee.
