The junta government of Rakhine State has revealed that a group of Muslims who entered Sittwe, the capital of Rakhine state, illegally from Bangladesh were apprehended in recent days in Sittwe township.

Abu Roshi (28 years old, son of Affi Sutan) was apprehended yesterday at 1 p.m. from the Di Lu Labe juice shop on the Sittwe-Pinllin Byint road in the Rakhine capital city Sittwe.

He is a resident of Buthidaung township's Atwin Ngat Thay village and has been working in Bangladesh since 2012.

He was arrested as he arrived in Sittwe by boat from Teknaf, a border town in Bangladesh opposite Maungdaw, with the intention of departing for Malaysia.

Previously, three Muslims who had entered Rakhine State illegally from Bangladesh were apprehended at the intersection of the Mansi-Thet Kay Byint road in Bumay village, Sittwe township.

Mamat Tu Song (75), Jama Hussain (50), and Mamat Shauris (65), the arrested individuals, are Maungdaw township residents. Security personnel apprehended them when they returned from Bangladesh illegally via boat.

They were later charged under the country's immigration law by junta officials
