The junta government of Rakhine State has revealed that a
group of Muslims who entered Sittwe,
the capital of Rakhine state, illegally from Bangladesh were apprehended
in recent days in Sittwe township.
Abu Roshi (28 years old, son of Affi Sutan) was apprehended
yesterday at 1 p.m. from the Di Lu Labe juice shop on the Sittwe-Pinllin Byint road in the Rakhine capital
city Sittwe.
He is a resident of Buthidaung township's Atwin Ngat Thay
village and has been working in Bangladesh since 2012.
He was arrested as he arrived in Sittwe by boat from Teknaf,
a border town in Bangladesh opposite Maungdaw, with the intention of departing
for Malaysia.
Previously, three Muslims who had entered Rakhine State
illegally from Bangladesh were apprehended at the intersection of the
Mansi-Thet Kay Byint road in Bumay
village, Sittwe township.
Mamat Tu Song (75), Jama Hussain (50), and Mamat Shauris
(65), the arrested individuals, are Maungdaw township residents. Security
personnel apprehended them when they returned from Bangladesh illegally via
boat.
They were later charged under the country's immigration law
by junta officials
