A joint force of Kachin Independence Organization
(KIO) and Arakan Army (AA) attacked a junta column, who came down from the
hilltop outpost to carry food items, where 2 soldiers were killed.
At 9 am on 30 September, 15 junta soldiers of a joint
force from LIB 438 and LIB 437 (stationed at Shan Htong
mountain) were going down to Nwanlan village under Momauk township
of Kachin State, when the incident took place.
The KIO-AA members intercepted their movement and
attacked the junta column, reported the Kokang media outlets.
Five MA automatic rifles, one pistol and several
bullets were seized by the joint forces.
About 200 junta soldiers are stationed at Shan Htong
mountain, which is located along Bhamo-Nang San Yang highway and is close to
the headquarter of Kachin Independence Army (KIA).
The junta forces
were facing a shortage of ration in the camp and hence they often came down to
collect necessary items.
Lately, the junta soldiers have been losing their
members as they face a number of clashes with the ethnic armed forces and also
the PDF across Myanmar.
