4 people arrested with 70,000 Yaba tablets worth Kyats 1.4 million on Buthidaung-Maungdaw road

At least 70,000 Yaba stimulants worth Kyats 1,400,000 were seized from the possession of four people coming in two motorcycles on Buthidaung-Maungdaw road, said the Rakhine State military council on 4 October.

 

The arrested individuals are identified as Shwe San Aung (38 years old) hailing from Kathila village, Hla Maung (42) from Pyn Khao village, Dae Oo (42) from Taung Gyirin village and Taung Nuk U alias Aung Luk (30) from Gai Chong village under Maungdaw township.

 

While driving from Buthidaung to Maungdaw locality, they were stopped by the police and later found those orange pills of WY/R in their backpacks.

 

They also confessed that they were contacted by a Sittwe resident over telephone and assured to pay Kyats 300,000 as the transportation fees for those pills.


The pills were taken from the boat dock near Kula Panzin river bridge of Buthidaung and scheduled to be delivered to drug dealers in Thinpaw Hla village under Maungdaw township.

 

Meanwhile, a case has been registered against those four individuals at Taung Bazar police station, and the police continue investigating the matter.
