An ethnic villager of Maungdaw township in western
Burma received a sword injury during an attack of miscreants as he was looking
for missing cattle, said a local village leader.
U Maung Aye Cho (50 years old), who faced the attack,
hails from Shwe Baho village in northern Maungdaw Township, while he along with
his colleagues was looking for his missing cattle near the mountain area.
“I believe the
attackers are members of the notorious terrorist group ARSA. There were four
people who attacked him with swords. But luckily, he could escape with
injuries,” added the villager leader.
According to the villagers, some of Maung Aye Cho’s
cattle went missing a few days back.
Fortunately, his injury was not serious and now he is
recovering from injuries at his village residence.
The family has complained to the authorities of United
League of Arakan (ULA), a political wing of Arakan Army (AA) about the
incident.
The western Burma border area is close to Bangladesh
and it often witnesses similar incidents. The villagers remain worried because
of the unsafe ambience.
