Drone attack injures seven family members including a young boy in Sittwe

Even though there were no reported conflicts at Toekan village, which is 2.5 miles away from Sittwe, a drone attack was carried out by the junta forces that injured seven members of a family including a 10-year-old boy.

They sustained injuries as the bomb exploded in front of their house, which is close to the Toekan middle school. The junta soldiers dropped the bomb by a drone, the locals alleged.

Four seriously injured villagers namely Daw Khin Nu (35 years old), Ma Phyo (28), Ko Phyo Win Maung (15) and Maung Htet Thura (10) have been sent for treatment at Sittwe general hospital. Others are being treated locally in the village as they sustained minor injuries.

"A drone dropped the bomb in our village. It was an army drone and it left the location immediately. We are scared because of the incident,” said a villager.

Earlier on 26 November, two locals including a woman were injured by an attack from a military drone in Ponna Kyunt township even though there was no gun fighting against the Arakan Army members.
