Tin Nilar Aung (aka Mee Nge), the user
of facebook account ‘Nilar
Aung’, was arrested by the military council on
Wednesday from Zay Taung ward
in Ann township
of Rakhine State.
The military-run Myanmar Alin
newspaper reported that the facebook
user was arrested by 3:45
pm on 6 December. The
social media user was accused of engaging
in incitement and propaganda against the
nation creating disturbances in peace and
stability of the country.
In recent days, a number of Rakhine
nationals have been arrested by the military
council for criticizing the junta
forces on social media. They have been accused
of spreading wrong news with the intention
to create public disorder.
Earlier two individuals including a woman
were arrested from Sittwe and they
have been charged under
section 505-A.
The arrested individuals are Ko
Kyaw Naing Lin from Lanmadaw (north)
ward and
Ma Saw Khin Aye (aka Ah Bu) from Ye Nwe Su ward in Sittwe township.
Lately, the junta forces have been
engaging in various inhuman actions
violating human rights of Rakhine people.
The army, navy, and air force personnel have been using artillery
shells and continuous firing. Even the Rakhine-based media outlets have also
been targeted by the military council for reporting
against the violations committed by junta soldiers.
