The Military Council
troops burned down several dormitories in Taw Kan Village, Sittwe Township,
Rakhine State.
A villager informed
Narinjara News that at approximately 9:00 AM on December 21, around 80 military
council troops entered Taw Kan Village in Sittwe Township and burned down
several dormitories.
"There were
around 80 soldiers. No one knew about their arrival. They set fire to three
dormitories, alleging that the occupants were ULA members," the villager
said.
A local woman from
Taw Kan informed Narinjara that the Military Council troops entered Taw Kan
village, traveled to Wah Bo village via the village ferry, and upon their
return, set fire to the dormitories.
"They entered
the village around 9 AM. The soldiers claimed it was the ULA office and
departed. After a while, we saw the fire. The houses were not on fire; it was
those dormitories that were burned. And now, they are entering the village
again, with drones hovering," she said.
She expressed
concern, noting that the drones are still hovering, and she is worried about
what will happen next.
On November 27,
Military Council troops conducted a drone bombing in Taw Kan village without
engaging in any conflict, injuring seven family members, including a
10-year-old child.
