On 28 December, during the battle at Myaung Bway
police station in Mrauk-U township of Rakhine State, the junta forces
indiscriminately fired artillery shells at different villages and the tragic
incident led to killing of four individuals, including three youths, and
injuring 16 others, said a statement issued by Three Brotherhood Alliance.
The deceased individuals include two young Muslim men
from Kaing Taw village, one Muslim woman from Bu Ta Lone village and a
12-year-old Muslim girl from Paung Toke village.
The injured persons include one child and two Muslim
girls from Kaing Taw village, one Muslim man from Bu Ta Lone village, and four
Muslim men from Paung Toke village.
On 18 December at around 6 am, the Arakan Army (AA)
members initiated an attack on the Myaung Bway police station, situated along
the Mrauk-U-Minbya highway, where the junta troops and police personnel were
stationed.
In relation to the conflict, the statement indicated
that the junta's 540th and 377th light infantry battalions, stationed in
Mrauk-U township, as well as the Kyaing Taung battalion in Minbya township,
continuously launched the artillery shells from 2 am to 7 am.
At 1 pm, two young Muslim men were killed, and two
young girls along with four men sustained injuries in Kaing Taw village
by four airstrikes of junta soldiers.
Kaing Taw village also caught fire after the
airstrikes, added the statement.
Several houses in the village and some structures
outside Myaung Bway village were also damaged.
Airstrikes conducted by the junta's jet fighters
resulted in the killing of a Muslim woman at Bu Ta Lone village near the Myaung
Bway bridge. One man also sustained serious injuries and he lost a leg.
At approximately 10 am on 28 December, the
Mrauk-U-based 540th and 377th light infantry battalions intentionally fired
artillery shells for ten times. Two artillery shells exploded in Paung Toke
village, killing a 12-year-old Muslim girl and injuring four men.
The statement also indicated that a skirmish occurred
between the AA members and junta soldiers in front of the Ponna Kyunt
substation at around 11:30 am.
During 24 to 28 December, when the junta forces
intentionally targeted Pauktaw township as well as the urban wards of Mrauk-U
township with airstrikes and artillery shells, at least 18 civilians lost their
lives, 22 got injured.
The junta forces, facing defeats on all fronts, are
seemingly targeting the civilians indulging in war crimes.
"We would like to inform you that we are doing
our best to fulfil the wishes of the Myanmar people," stated Three
Brotherhood Alliance in their statement on the occasion of 63rd day of
Operation 1027.
