The Three Brotherhood Alliance has announced on 24 January, the 90th day of Operation 1027, that the Arakan Army (AA) has taken full control of Pauktaw  in Rakhine State.

The AA  has gained full control of Pauktaw in the Rakhine region, said a statement issued by Three Brotherhood Alliance.

"At the same time, the clashes between the junta soldiers, who refused to surrender, and the AA fighters in Mrauk-U, Minbya, Kyauktaw and Rathedaung townships remain intense. We are striving to capture the junta's division headquarters and bases one by one," added the statement.

It  also mentioned that the clashes in Ramree (Yanbye) township were consistent with the intensity of previous days and the junta's airstrikes continued with the same level.

On Wednesday the junta forces conducted 33 airstrikes using jet fighters and helicopters on the urban wards of Ramree and its  surrounding areas. This marked the highest number of airstrikes recorded in a single day.

During the attack, several houses and a bridge over the creek were damaged. Furthermore, the junta’s  artillery shells caused the burning of over six shops in Ramawadi market, which is situated behind the Ramree Myoma police station.

On the 90th day of Operation 1027, while there were no major clashes or skirmishes in northern Shan State, the fighting continued in the Rakhine region.

In the AA's other operational areas, including the Sagaing region and various locations, many self-defense conflicts are also underway in collaboration with other allied organizations.

As the fighting went on with high  intensity, the junta forces fired  indiscriminate artillery shelling on residential areas which damaged properties like the previous days.
