Junta forces destroy 122mm howitzers before retreating from Myebon’s Yaw Chaung base

The junta forces have withdrawn from the Yaw Chaung tactical operation command base in Myebon township of  Rakhine State. During their retreat the soldiers destroyed arms and ammunition including 122mm howitzers, claimed Three Brotherhood Alliance on 26 January.

"The junta forces had abandoned a tactical command base in Myebon on Friday. Starting from morning hours, the soldiers burned arms  and ammunition including 122mm howitzers at the tactical operation command base and nearby hill-based camps," said a statement issued by the  Three Brotherhood Alliance.

Following the withdrawal, the soldiers fled in two warships and some of them suffered casualties on the warships as the Arakan Army (AA) fighters chased them.

The clashes between the AA members and junta forces persisted in Kyauktaw, Mrauk-U, Minbya, Rathedaung and Ramree (Yanbye) townships.
