The junta soldiers shot dead two inmates among
those captured in the 379th light infantry battalion based in Minbya township
of Rakhine State.
According to a Minbya resident Ko Kyaw Nyunt was one
of the two individuals who was fatally shot.
Three Brotherhood Alliance in a media statement
confirmed the killing of two inmates in their statement released last evening.
"The soldiers from the 379th battalion, based in
Minbya locality of Rakhine State, violated the human rights of two civilians.
These individuals, held in arbitrary detention since 2022, were shot to death
in their cell during their confinement," added the statement.
He added that Arakan Army (AA) fighters had
successfully evacuated those remaining inmates.
"The inmates, who were evacuated from Minbya
police station, were arrested from a chicken farm by the 379th battalion. I
came to know that Ko Kyaw Nyunt and another individual were shot dead. The AA
fighter managed to evacuate the rest of the inmates," said a Minbya
resident.
Nyi Daung Chay, the ward administrator of Okkar Pyan,
a youth from Na Yan and several youths from Pauktaw and Rathedaung localities
were evacuated.
Narinjara News can not reveal the exact number of
inmates who were evacuated.
Meanwhile, the 379th battalion soldiers were
retreating toward the mountain, where the 541st battalion is based, following
the offensive launched by AA members.
