The junta forces continue launching airstrikes during
night hours on Pauktaw township, which was captured by the Arakan Army (AA) a
few days back, that injured eight civilians including two minors.
All the injured individuals hail from Kyauk Pyin
and Taung Maw Oo (also known as Aye Chan Thar) villages under Pauktaw
township.
A local resident said that after 11 pm on 12 February,
the junta forces conducted airstrikes with a jet fighter which injured those
people, who were sleeping at that time.
"They conducted airstrikes with a jet fighter,
even though there was no fighting. The airstrikes were carried out while the
navy personnel were returning to Sittwe from Minbya," added the resident.
The injured individuals include Maung Hti Phoe Wa Chay
(12 years old), Maung Kyaw Soe Lin (16), Daw Ah Mi Chay (42), Daw Kyaing Sein
Ma (71), U Hla Tun Wai (42), Daw Aye Nu (42), who hail from Kyauk Pyin village.
Another injured U Aung Sein (70) hails from Taung Maw Oo village.
Among them Hla Tun Wai and Kyaing Sein Ma are
seriously injured. They all were taken to Myin Gar hospital.
Earlier, at around 10 pm on 11 February, the junta's
logistic aircraft carried out airstrikes over Kyauktaw locality, which is under
full control of the AA. The surrounding villages were also targeted,
following which seven civilians died in Pike The ward and nine others
were injured.
