On Thursday morning, 330 Myanmar border guard police personnel, who fled to
Bangladesh due to armed conflicts, were sent back to Myanmar.
Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel handed them over to Myanmar officials
in a ceremony attended by BGB director general Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui
and Myanmar ambassador to Bangladesh Aung Kyaw Moe.
Among them, there are 302 BGP members, one junta
soldier, 18 immigration officers and four civilians, who sought refuge in
Bangladesh.
They fled to Bangladesh when the Arakan Army (AA) fighters attacked and
captured Let Wae and Let Yar camps in Taung Pyo town on 4 and 6 February.
According to Dhaka based media outlets, they will be brought back by a Myanmar
navy ship anchored near the Bangladesh border through the jetty ghat at Inani.
