The Arakan Army (AA) has captured 12 juntasoldiers, who fled along with their weapons from number nine advancedtraining school in Minbya township of Rakhine State.
The captured soldiers include sergeant Shin Wai Yan Oo, sergeant Zaw Aung,sergeant Maung Pu Chay, police private Myat Thu, private Naing Win, privateKaung Myat Htet, private Saw Sar Hplu Mu, etc.
According to a source close to the AA, the soldierswere captured from Myebon township.
"Many civilians went to a mountain looking for forest produce andthen encountered two soldiers who had fled from the training school. Theyreturned to the village and informed other villagers. Soon 20 AA fightersarrived at the location and confronted both the soldiers.
One soldier was killed and the other one capturedalive," added the source.
As of 6 March, the AA fighters have captured 12junta soldiers, including three sergeants.
"Of the two soldiers, one was killed andthe other one captured alive. One soldier was also apprehended from a different location. Additionally, seven individuals were apprehended from Yaw creekand a few others were captured," stated the source.
The AA fighters captured the junta's number nineadvanced training school near Kanni village under Minbya township.
On 4 March, over 60 soldiers after fleeing from the training school abducted 20 civilians from Myebon township touse them as human shields. Later the AA fighters could rescue all of them.
On 8 March, the AA fighters attacked thesoldiers who abducted civilians to use as human shields. During the attack,lieutenant colonel Ye Htut Win, the head of the training school, along withseveral other soldiers were killed.
The AA urged the residents to remain vigilant as thesoldiers may be hiding somewhere inside forests and mountains.
According to the AA news & information, the offensive against the trainingschool began on 17 February. After ten days of intense offensive and evenfacing attacks from the junta's airstrikes and artillery shells, the AAfighters captured the advanced training School on 26 February.
