Junta soldiers flee Ann base, 6 captured by PRA members



The junta soldiers from the western command, headquartered in Ann township of Rakhine State, are now fleeing and  six of them were captured by People's Revolution Alliance members (PRA) based in Magway region.

 

According to a PRA-Magway statement, released on 3 April, four soldiers from the 346th light infantry battalion, who fled from the western command were captured on 1 April. Two other soldiers from the 63rd infantry battalion, who fled from the 9th advanced training school were captured on 2 April.

 

The PRA-Magway stated that there is an ongoing clash in the Rakhine region and because of it the soldiers started fleeing towards the Magway and other areas.

 

Their members are fighting against the junta soldiers in various regions emphasizing on eradicating the dictatorship.

 

The organisation has urged the soldiers from various junta battalions, outposts and checkpoints based in Ngape township of Magway region to join the revolutionary forces.

 

Furthermore, the PRA-Magway urged the government personnel engaged in various departments responsible for military operations including village administrators and clerks to resign as early as possible.
