Junta's military headquarters, Aye Lar military airbase in Naypyidaw hit by drone strikes



The People's Defense Force (PDF) has launched drone attacks on the military headquarters and Aye Lar military airbase in Naypyidaw.

 

The defense ministry of the National Unity Government (NUG) stated on Thursday that the simultaneous drone attacks targeting the junta's military headquarters and Aye Lar military airbase resulted in damage.

 

The PDF special forces and Kloud Drone unit of the Shar Htoo Waw technical force attacked the military headquarters, while the PDF special forces and Lethal Props unit of the Shar Htoo Waw technical force targeted the military airbase.

 

Naypyidaw military headquarters was attacked by 16 kamikaze drones and Aye Lar military airbase was targeted by 13 kamikaze drones in the morning hours of 4 April.

 

"Currently, due to the loss of communication network in military headquarters, the extent of damage remains unknown. However, according to our sources, the military air base caught fire. We are now able to initiate attacks on the most fortified areas of Naypyiday that were  deemed to be safe for the junta,” said the PDF Insight statement.

 

According to news reports, Aye Lar military airbase was attacked by drones equipped with bombs. One of the drones landed near the runway and exploded, resulting in the temporary closure of the airport for clearance of mines.

 

Some reported that the residence of military leader Min Aung Hlaing was also targeted, however Narinjara News can not  confirm it.
