The Thailand police have arrested 123 Burmese nationals, who
were hiding at an abandoned house in Kanchanaburi province, near the Myanmar
border, said Thai news reports.
They were arrested by 9 am on Thursday and the
group includes 29 women.
The local news described them as illegal infiltrators, who were arrested by
Kanchanaburi police from the border area.
The brokers, who brought the migrants, could escape and they were detained at
Kanchanaburi police station following the order of Kanchanaburi immigration
officer.
The migrants are expected to be sent back to Myanmar.
The police have seized four vehicles, which were used
to carry the group of Burmese .
The arrested Myanmar nationals reportedly paid Baht 15,000 to 30,000 each to
the brokers. They were detained while waiting for their vehicle to enter the
southern part of Thailand.
