AA C-in-C Twan Mrat Naing delivers online speech at pre-celebrations of AA's 15th anniversary in Japan, Malaysia



The pre-celebrations for 15th anniversary of the Arakan Army (AA) were organised  in Japan and Malaysia on 7 April, where AA commander-in-chief general Twan Mrat Naing delivered a congratulatory online speech.

 

10 April is the 15th anniversary of the AA and pre-celebrations were organised in Tokyo (Japan) by Arakan Union-Japan from 12 to 5 pm (Japan time) and in Kuala Lumpur & Pahang in Malaysia from 10:30 am to 6 pm (Malaysia time).

 

AA C-in-C  Twan Mrat Naing spoke on these occasions which were attended  by hundreds of Rakhine people as well as individuals from other ethnic groups.




The participants reported that the singers celebrated with songs accompanied by Rakhine traditional dances at the events.

 

The AA  was founded on 10 April 2009 at Laiza in Kachin State and it will celebrate its 15th anniversary on Wednesday.

 

Currently, the AA fighters are launching an offensive against the military junta in Rakhine State and also other parts of Myanmar alongside other revolutionary forces.


The AA is widely acknowledged and respected as a powerful revolutionary force which has collaborated with the Northern Alliance forces with significant success.

 

Since December 2018, the AA has been actively fighting in the Rakhine region and till now the AA fighters have occupied many townships in the northern part, were they have developed administrative, judiciary, and legislative structures in those localities.
