Four young people from
Kyaukphyu township of Rakhine State have been arrested by the junta
soldiers during an ambush patrolling.
The arrested youths namely
Ko Nay Toe (aged 20), Ko Zin Myint Tun (20), Ko Tin Maung Naing (22) and
Ko Chan Myint Zaw (24) hail from Kulabar Taung village.
A local resident informed
Narinjara News that they were arrested during an ambush patrolling at the
intersection of the entry point to Si Maw village. It happened while they were
returning with two motorcycles at around 2 pm on 11 April.
"The soldiers have
been conducting ambush patrols near the village for four to five days,"
added the resident.
A local villager said that
the youths were riding motorcycles from Saing Chon Dwain village of
Thit Poke Taung sub-town to return back to their native village (Kulabar
Taung). They are now under the military custody at Dhanyawadi naval base.
"Recently, a villager was arrested and taken to a nearby area of
Dhanyawadi naval base. We're worried about their arbitrary arrest,” stated the
resident.
On 6 April, U Wai Tin Aung
from Si Maw village, who had returned after fleeing the war, was arrested by
the soldiers from Dhanyawadi naval base.
