Four Kyaukphyu youths arrested by junta soldiers during ambush patrolling

Four young people fromKyaukphyu township of Rakhine State have been  arrested by the juntasoldiers during an ambush patrolling.

 

The arrested youths namely Ko Nay Toe (aged 20), Ko Zin Myint Tun (20), Ko Tin Maung Naing (22) andKo Chan Myint Zaw (24) hail from Kulabar Taung village.

 

A local resident informedNarinjara News that they were arrested during an ambush patrolling at theintersection of the entry point to Si Maw village. It happened while they werereturning with two motorcycles at around 2 pm on 11 April.

 

"The soldiers havebeen conducting ambush patrols near the village for four to five days,"added the resident.

 

A local villager said thatthe youths were  riding motorcycles from Saing Chon Dwain village of Thit Poke Taung sub-town to return back to their native village (KulabarTaung). They are now under the military custody at Dhanyawadi naval base.


"Recently, a villager was arrested and taken to a nearby area ofDhanyawadi naval base. We're worried about their arbitrary arrest,” stated theresident.

 

On 6 April, U Wai Tin Aungfrom Si Maw village, who had returned after fleeing the war, was arrested bythe soldiers from Dhanyawadi naval  base.
