At least 132 Burmese border guard personnel fled to
Bangladesh again, reports Dhaka Tribune. They sought refuge in the neighbouring
country after failing to fight against the Arakha Army ( AA) in
the Rakhine region.
“88 of them died on Sunday morning and 44 on Saturday. They
surrendered to the Bangladesh border guard personnel after crossing the Nat
river from several places,” said the report.
According to intelligence agencies in the region, they
entered Bangladesh after crossing the river.
618 Myanmar border guards, who entered earlier, were also
sent back by Dhaka.
The AA fighters were camping a few miles away from Maungdaw,
Kyekan Pyin border guard headquarters. All border guard stations of Hla
Po Khao number 10 were already occupied.
