The junta forces on 31 May arrested four Arakanese youths, including former Arakan National Party (ANP) youth leader Ko Khin Win Maung (aka Ko Gambarri) from his residence in Yangon.

Ko Gambarri and three youths were picked up by junta soldiers during a night search in Hlaing township of Yangon, the formal capital city of Burma.

"We're still looking for the details. Ko Gambarri was arrested with three others who lived with him in the same house," said ANP chairman U Thar Tun Hla.

Though Ko Gambarri did not maintain his registration with the ANP, he remains active in the party activities.

A female Arakanese social activist from Yangon also confirmed the arrest of four youths and mentioned about the ongoing investigation into those arrests.
