203 international Arakanese communities and alliance
nationalities strongly condemned the Myanmar military for committing war
crimes, particularly the mass killing of civilians in Byine Phyu village under
Sittwe township of Arakan State.
They also urged the United Nations, ASEAN and the international community
to take effective action against the military junta.
A statement, issued on 7 June, said that a
military column the Tatmadaw and State Administration Council (SAC) raided Set
Yoe Kya Byine Phyu village on 29 May and committed crimes against humanity and
genocide, including inhuman mass killings of more than 70 civilians, destroying
some bodies and gang-raping & killing of women.
The Arakanese organizations worldwide, along with the
brotherhood alliance of nationalities, strongly condemn the perpetrators of the
senseless and violent mass murder. They also demand justice and effective
punishment for those murderers, said the statement.
It expressed grief over the victims and bereaved
families due to the loss of innocent lives because of senseless killings and
mentioned that Arakanese organizations across the world will provide emergency
assistance to the affected families.
The statement also indicated that war crimes, crimes
against humanity and genocide continue to be perpetrated by the army, navy and
air force personnel through the bombing on Arakanese towns &
villages, shelling and targeting innocent civilians.
The global Arakanese communities along with alliances
demand that the UN and ASEAN should expel Myanmar, which is run by the junta
forces and it continues violating international laws and the UN charter,
asserted the statement.
