Thirteen Myanmar borderguard personnel from Maungdaw in Arakan State fled the ongoing conflicts andsought refuge in neighbouring Bangladesh.
They arrived at NazirPara in Teknaf at around 7 am on Thursday after crossing the Naf river.They escaped the ongoing fighting against the Arakan Army (AA) members inMaungdaw locality.
The Myanmar armed guardssurrendered to the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Teknaf.
Lieutenant colonelMohiuddin Ahmed, commander of Teknaf-2 BGB, confirmed that they were taken into custody after their weapons were confiscated.
The fighting intensified as the AA fighters continued theiroffensive in Maungdaw locality.
