Junta’s night airstrikes on Sar Pyin Gyi village kill 3 civilians, injure 6 others

The military junta conducted nighttime airstrikes with a jet fighter on Sar Pyin Gyi village in Moe Sel island under Rathedaung township of Arakan State, which killed three civilians and injured  6 others.

 

A local resident informed Narinjara News that the junta's airstrikes after 11 pm on 28 August  killed two men and one woman.

 

"The junta forces conducted airstrikes on Sar Pyin Gyi after 11 pm,” said the resident.

 

Due to the junta’s restriction on communication technology across the Moe Sel island region, Narinjara News is yet to get more details about the casualties.

 

On 18 August at around 1  pm, the junta soldiers conducted four airstrikes with a jet fighter while a charity feast was organized at Byine Kyun monastery on the entry point to Rathedaung.

 

On 21 May at around 6 am, a naval vessel stationed near Tha Win creek in Maungdaw fired shells on Zay Di Pyin village under Rathedaung township without any provocation, which  killed an elderly man and injured six others.

 

The Arakan Army (AA) took control over Rathedaung township on 17 March.

 

The residents reported that despite the region remaining peaceful, the junta forces continue conducting airstrikes.
