Military junta invites ethnic resistance organizations to solve political problems

The military junta has extended an invitation to various ethnic resistance organizations along with the People's Defense Force (PDF) to address political problems through the political means.

On 26 September, the information team of the State Administration Council issued an official statement  announcing this invitation.

The invitation highlights that individuals and organizations opting for armed and terror attacks, rather than addressing political problems through dialogues, have caused significant losses to national human resources, infrastructure, people's lives and wealth, while also hindering the stability and development of Myanmar.

Furthermore, the invitation urges ethnic armed organizations, terrorist rebel outfits and PDF groups involved in the conflict to abandon the armed attacks. They are encouraged to solve political issues through political means, such as party politics or elections, in order to collaborate with the people towards achieving a lasting peace and development.

The State Administration Council is steadfastly working towards the ultimate goal of its five-point roadmap, which aims to conduct a free & fair multi-party engaged general elections and transfer state power to the newly elected government, added the statement.

Additionally, the statement mentioned that preparations for the national election are currently being made with full efforts and the population & household census to ensure the accuracy of the voter-list for the election will begin on 1 October.
