The military junta has taken actions against 81
overseas employment agencies, said a report of BETV Business.
Those agencies were suspended from offering new jobs
for failing to meet the necessary percentage of remittances to the families, as
mandated by the junta's labour ministry.
The ministry instructed the agencies to provide proof
of remittances to the families of overseas workers for the first three months
of this year.
Among the suspended agencies, the majority are those
used to send workers to Thailand.
The suspension created difficulties for the
individuals associated with overseas employment.
Some workers stated that those connected with the
suspended agencies are facing delays in securing permission to leave for
overseas employment.
Currently, there are nearly 600 licensed agencies
authorized to send workers abroad, with tens of thousands of people departing
for overseas employment each month, added the ministry.
