The leaders of China, Cambodia, Laos, and Thailand have promised to back Myanmar's efforts towards peace.

During separate talks with Myanmar's military chief, Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, who was visiting China, the prime ministers of these four countries made this commitment.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met with the Prime Ministers of China, Cambodia, and Laos on November 6, and with Thailand's leader on November 7.

Thailand's Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra told reporters that her government has offered support to foster peace in Myanmar.

Paetongtarn also noted that Myanmar's conflict is an internal matter that Myanmar itself must resolve.

At the ASEAN summit in Vientiane, Laos, in October, Paetongtarn urged more engagement with Myanmar.

She stated that there is "no military fix" to the conflict and that it's "time to start talking."

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, who also met with Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, wrote on social media that following the ASEAN Five-Point Consensus is key to peacefully solving Myanmar's political crisis. He expressed hope for a peaceful resolution soon.

Hun Manet also mentioned that Senior General Min Aung Hlaing discussed Myanmar's political situation and plans for upcoming elections.

The Prime Ministers of Laos and China also expressed their willingness to help Myanmar's peace efforts.

Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang reaffirmed China's full support for Myanmar's internal stability and successful future elections.

Li said Myanmar's issues are especially important to China as a neighbor and promised strong support for Myanmar internationally.

In Myanmar, the Three Brotherhood Alliance (3BHA), including the Arakan Army (AA), other ethnic armed groups, and the People's Defense Force (PDF) under the National Unity Government (NUG), continues to fight against military rule.

Heavy fighting has killed thousands of civilians and destroyed tens of thousands of homes.

Hundreds of thousands of people have been forced to flee across the country.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended the 8th Greater Mekong Subregion Summit in Kunming, China, from November 6 to 7.

He also joined the 10th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit and the 11th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) Summit.
